Date fritters.
Ingredients
- Flour, 600g
- Sugar, 80g
- One egg
- Margarine, 175g
- Baking powder, 1tsp
For the filling:
- Dates, 360g
- Orange zest
- Anisette liquor
- Orange blossom water
Method:
- Sift the flour and mix in the baking powder and margarine.
- Add the sugar and egg.
- Mix into the shape of a ball and place it in the fridge for around 30 minutes.
- In a pot, cook the dates with the orange zest and add some orange blossom water.
- Let the mixture sit for around 30 minutes
- Roll out the dough into long strips and place the mixture on top.
- Fold the dough over the mixture and cut to the desired width.
